St. Charles Missouri portrait photographer DUSTIN BRYSON gets to photograph a very special subject, his daughter.
There is something special about portraits. Freezing a moment in time just seems like magic to me. How does it work? Honestly, I have no idea.
While I don’t really know how it works I do know how special each memory is for me. So when my wife asked (told) me it was time for my daughter to get new headshots for her theater resume I grabbed my camera and was ready to rock.
She was happy. Mom was happy and that made me happy. Perhaps what made me the happiest is that we already have prints of these adorning the walls and mantle of our home. Photos aren’t meant to stay on your phone, they’re meant to be printed.
Sometimes a Picture is Documentation
Accidents happen, of course we all know that. They aren’t planned and they aren’t malicious but they can, and often do, result in pain.
Today my sixteen year old son was in his first car accident. He’s had his license for a few months and each time he leaves the house I say a little prayer for him. I ask for his safety.
His accident could have been much worse. The van he hit had multiple kids little kids in the car. I am so thankful it wasn’t worse and nobody was injured.
As a photographer I use images to tell a story. Usually, I attempt to make them beautiful and interesting but sometimes a picture is simply documentation. Today was one of those days.
She was fabulous
Instant film just hits differently.
I saw the bag and knew I had to try to get a shot. I had my iPhone 13 mini and a Polaroid. Which would I choose? You know the answer.
Female empowerment is more important right now than ever. We should all be thanking God for women who speak up.
